Yingze Park 迎泽公园

I still had some more time before the train leaves so I decided to continue walking along Yingze Street. This was the large street in the area and it leads directly to town and also to the Taiyuan Railway Station. Nearby the Wuyi Square was another larger park along Yingze Street. It was aptly named Yingze Park. Although the weather was quite cool, the sun was still bearing down on me and I wanted some shade. Yingze Park seems to be the perfect place for that. Yingze Park is one of Taiyuan’s larger parks and it is a breath of fresh air here in the busy capital city.

Most Chinese public parks tend to have the same features, curiously shaped rocks, a Chinese garden and a lake if there is space. Yingze Park has all these features. Near the entrance there was a miniature hill where visitors can go around and climb. There wasn’t any view from above since the place was surrounded by trees. Not surprisingly, there were a lot of visitors in this park as it is always relaxing to do so, but at least the number of visitors wasn’t enough to annoy me. These were truly visitors who come to relax and just have a good time in the park.
