There was much time left before I needed to go back to the train station which was only several blocks away. I don’t need to take public transport for this so I was just taking my time trying to absorb what can be seen in this area. Wuyi Square was a nice stopover for me since it was one of the more pleasant squares I have been to in China. The bird house made the place more charming and it really didn’t smell bad at all. It seems the people here also take time to walk about in Wuyi Square since it is also within walking distance of several important establishments.

Wuyi Square is just but one of the parks you can visit in Taiyuan, despite its surprising modernity, the city planners managed to make space for these parks here. Despite the immense population of the country, it really doesn’t feel crowded here. You only get this feeling in big open spaces, however, go to a bus station or worse, a train station can you get the feeling of over population again. In the meantime, I was just content to kick back and watch kids feed or scare the pigeon away.
