Taiyuan Train Station 太原站
It took the bus only less than two hours to get back to Shanxi’s provincial capital of Taiyuan. As with other Chinese cities, Taiyuan is a very busy place. From the bus station there were the usual throngs of people waiting to get on the bus and also offering you take you to your destination. The bus station wasn’t exactly the best place to be there. First order of business was to get my return ticket home. Numerous buses pass by Taiyuan Train Station from the main road, if you can read Chinese, this should be a snap.
Clock Tower at Taiyuan Train Station 太原站
The bus stop is just before the train station and I quickly got in to purchase my ticket back to Beijing. There were numerous trips from Taiyuan to Beijing so I wasn’t really worried about not making it back to Beijing. My only worry was having to queue up so long to buy a ticket back. I purchased a ticket for the hi-speed train back to Beijing, the ride there was so comfortable that I just can’t get enough of it. I really disliked the ordinary trains and I try to avoid them as much as I can. If I have to pay a bit more for speed and comfort, this would be perfect for me without flying.
