Entering the Confucius Temple 文庙 in Pingyao 平遥

There are numerous “must see” sights here in Pingyao. The City God Temple in Pingyao is just one of them. There are several more of these sights here and I would probably try to visit all of them. Though I probably won’t be featuring all of them here in this blog. I think these sights probably had separate ticket booths before until someone decided to group all of them together under one ticket. That was visitors won’t have to keep fishing out their wallets each time they visit one of the sights. It is just as well as some of these sights might not get that many visitors in the first place.

I wasn’t really following a map when I was exploring Pingyao, the must see sights are all bunched together along the main roads of Pingyao ancient city. I was just walking along these road and just looking for a gantry where you flash your ticket. The next site I stumbled into as the Confucius Temple though I didn’t really know at that time. However, upon entry the words Pingyao Confucius Temple were inscribed on a rock greeted me. This place sounds awfully familiar, but let do some exploration anyway.
