Wandering Around Ji’an City 集安

Ji’an is your typical Chinese city but what I like about it is that it is small. It almost has that small town feel to it. There is no trace of the hectic life that can be seen in Chinese megacities like Shanghai or Beijing, instead life here is very laid back. According to my travel guide/driver, there aren’t any major business centers here in the city. There isn’t a central business district as there aren’t enough people to support something like that. Instead the biggest employer here in the city is the government itself, after all the government still needs people to keep the city running efficiently.

The hotel where I stayed in seems to be quite close to the city center itself. Chinese cities usually have parks and government buildings at the center of the city. Ji’an is no different. There was a large park comprising a large square but I was still some ways off from the park. Since there wasn’t much happening here, I decided to try to see if there was anything interesting in the park.
