Trying Out Haerbin Sausage

I still have some time before dark, that means it was still early. The sun sets at around four in the afternoon during this time of the year which is really wrecking my body clock. I didn’t have anything planned anymore so I decided to take it slow and see what shops at there. I realize that I haven’t really been snacking here in Haerbin. So much has been said about this but I have yet to participate, except probably for that popsicle I had the other night. It just so happened that I passed by what can only describe as a deli store, except this one only has meat in it.

Which reminded me, I heard about the sausages in Haerbin and how good they were. The sausage was obviously foreign influenced and subsequently adopted by the Chinese to local tastes. There were several types of sausages to choose from and yet, I was still kind of reluctant to try them. They didn’t look cooked so I wasn’t sure if I still needed to cook them. I asked the sales lady about it and she said it was ready to eat. I bought a single piece of original flavor Haerbin sausage. If you look at the photos it really does look like it still needs cooking, but it really didn’t. The sausage tastes much like any other sausage including the texture. Although it did have a bit garlic flavoring in it. It was fun to try it but I was afraid to take any chances with seemingly unsafe food. The deli store was in fact very clean and I couldn’t fault in any way. The sausage was a nice experience and I made me buy some more to bring back home.
