Overgrown Entrance of the Theme Park in Haerbin 哈尔滨

It was a no go for the Puzhao Temple 普照寺 in Haerbin as it was unexpectedly closed. I was meaning to go to the Confucius temple here in the city and I was under the impression that this was the one, but apparently it wasn’t. Oh well, with the temple closed there wasn’t much to do here. Or is there? There just beside the Puzhao Temple is what seems to be an active theme park. It was hard to tell from the looks of the entrance of the theme park since it seems to have been overrun by vines. I was kind of surprised to know that it was actually still in operation. There was a ticket booth just outside the entrance and it seems that there were patrons.

Worth Visiting?

Worth Visiting?

The entrance may have probably been intentionally left like that to preserve the “ruins” look of the entrance either that or they do a lousy job maintaining the place. It had a European look to it in keeping with the general style of buildings in Haerbin. Apart from the massive ferris wheel that is visible from the outside and the surrounding temples. There was little to tell me what else is inside. The entrance fee was a bit too much for me to spend here as I as already halfway into my trip. My stinginess won out and I started to head back to the main road where I got my bus. This is how I take public transportation in China, I try to remember the bus I took and where to get off, so far it has worked wonders for me, saving me to taxi fares.
