There was still much daylight left and I decided to continue exploring Haerbin. I was already in the Daoli district and I needed to get back to the hostel for more instructions. There was a very informative board at the hostel and it points out the places of interest in Haerbin. It even tells you how to get there and where to get off. Horrifyingly, there were also transfer stops as well so I would be very scary to the Chinese language challenged-individual traveller. My ride will be at the stop behind the hostel so I quickly made my way to the stop.

Along the way, I noticed that there was another heritage structure beside the hostel. I don’t really know how to describe it. It has several onion domes on top but it doesn’t look like a place of worship, it looked more like it was part of the old synagogue. It turns out, it was a former Jewish primary school. I guess it was but natural to erect a primary school here right beside the synagogue. With practically all of the Jews gone from Haerbin, it has been converted into a Korean school. Haerbin happens to have a healthy population of ethnic Koreans due to its proximity to the Korean peninsula. The school isn’t really open for tourists so I took my shots and left.
