Walking down Zhongyang Street in Haerbin certainly feels like walking down a street in Europe. Okay, I’ve never been to Europe yet but this is probably the closest I could get to being there. That is if I remove the Chinese signs on the stores. Actually, I think the signs are even quite subdued, if you notice the ones in Shanghai and in Beijing, neon signs are all over the place. There is somehow order in this particular pedestrian shopping street. Along the way, there was something that caught my fancy. There was actually public art here.

Completing the European feel of Zhongyang Street was the presence of public art. Some of the perpendicular to Zhongyang Street were quite wide and they were wide enough to be like a small square. This was the perfect place to put some public art. This one in particular was a group of people playing instruments. It was really quite refreshing to be in a place like this. It would have been nice if there was some sort of piped-in music, maybe something classical to complete the feel of the place.
