Inside the Coffee Shop in Suzhou Old Town

As we were waiting to leave for Suzhou train station, we came upon this nice little coffee shop not too far away from our hostel. It was no Starbucks, but also has that homey feeling. Once you enter the place you realize that the place is all made of wood. But the lighting of the place makes for a very relaxing place to hang out after a days worth of exploring. The Chinese traditionally aren’t really heavy coffee drinkers, I would think this is more directed at the youth and foreigners. Surprisingly, we were probabably the only foreigners in that place, though you probably won’t be able to tell either.

Letters to the Future Wall at the Coffee Shop

My friends ordered some drinks here but I was never a coffee person so I abstained and just took photos of the place instead. Behind the coffee shop, was a wall with a lot of letters arranged by day of the year. It was a letters to the future wall. I have seen this before in a Shanghai hostel. You leave the letter here in the hostel and they will mail it to you at the date you decide. The more years it will take to mail your letter, the longer more expensive it will be, although the costs might not be that big anyway. After drinks we finally got our bags at the hostel and set off for Suzhou Train Station.
