Preparing to Leave Suzhou 苏州

After a short visit to the pedestrian shopping street to Guanqian in Suzhou, it was time to head back. We didn’t really purchase tickets back to Shanghai as I advised my friends to just “wing” it when it comes to tickets. I reasoned that there were a lot of trains which shuttle between Shanghai and Suzhou and we probably will not run out of spots on the train. Then again, I should not be underestimating the power of China’s population.

We didn’t really have much stuff to bring from the hostel since it was just an overnight stay. Fortunately for us, the hostel was just nearby. And since there was still a bit of time, I took some time to do a few shots. It is a pity though that I didn’t get to see much of the Suzhou old town, I think this place has quite a lot to offer given the time to explore. A lot of the old structures here were carefully preserved too. This includes the waterways which surround the old town. It is difficult to find such kind of places these days. Looking at Suzhou now it is a wonder that they still managed to keep much of the old town.
