As it turns out, we weren’t going to be eating at the restaurant strip at Moye Road, but rather were went there since it was the designated meeting point by our local contact. Fortunately, one of my companions had a local line so it was easy to keep in touch with them. We were to meet them along the highway. I can imagine how difficult it is to give instructions to our contact since we don’t know any landmarks here. We don’t even know whether we are in the correct location. Anyway, after some calls they managed to locate us. Our hosts brought along a car, it seems we will be going somewhere else. It turns out that the guy didn’t have a car himself and had to borrow one from his friend.

The car wasn’t very new though, but who’s complaining. This is probably the first time I’ve rode on a Chinese vehicle without paying for it. We would be heading to Suzhou Industrial Park where we will be having dinner. It seems to be a long way from where we were, and it just goes to show how much Suzhou has expanded since it was a small water town. Our friend was telling how much the place has changed over the years and how entirely new districts have been opened up for business. The Suzhou Industrial Park incidentally is a joint venture between China and Singapore in an effort learn the management techniques which Singapore is known for.
