We have used up our time for sightseeing here at Hangzhou and it was almost time to go back to Shanghai. But before that, we decided to go for an early dinner at Hangzhou. We didn’t buy any tickets back to Shanghai, so we don’t really know what time we can get back. The staff at the hostel recommended us this place in Hangzhou which serves great food at a great price. The problem is how to getting there. We didn’t know how to get to the restaurant so we tried hailing a cab. Unfortunately, from numerous experiences trying to hail a cab in China’s large cities, I had very little success, Hangzhou was no exception.

We decided to take a bus, we can read Chinese so we just needed to figure out how to get to that stop. Fortunately, there was a bus which goes to the vicinity of the restaurant from Yue Fei’s Temple. This was the first time we took the public bus in Hangzhou and it was quite an experience since we didn’t know where to alight. The bus follows the shores of West Lake along the aptly named Hubin Road 湖滨路 or Lake Shore Road. Imagine our surprise when my friend spotted the restaurant from the moving bus and we promptly got off at the next bus stop which was just a block away. Fortunately for us, the restaurant was in a prominent place and we were able to quickly find it. It is a two storey restaurant and it looks pricey. I wonder if it is any good.
