We were done with Xiao Ying Zhou and were deciding on where to go next, my friends suggested to go to the Zhongshan Park, so we needed to take another boat ride to this point. The ride is part of the payment we gave to take the boat on West Lake and Zhongshan Park was one of the stops. I have been to Zhongshan Park in my previous visit and I wasn’t terribly impressed by this place. This supposedly used to be some government center but there was hardly anything worth seeing here unless you are into stone foundations.

Zhongshan Park is named after Sun Zhongshan or Sun Yatsen as he is known outside of China. The park itself is built on the largest natural island of West Lake. I didn’t really feel like going here but I just wanted to accompany them anywhere they go. Who knows we might stumble into something interesting. I finally got to climb Gu Shan on the island and there nothing much of note here. There was a nice little pavillion on the way down the hill and may be worth a visit, but otherwise I would probably skip this park. Fortunately, I didn’t have to pay for anything to visit the place.
