Drum Tower Pagoda

There seemed to be a lot of activity beyond the drum tower, most prominently, there was a lively night market just outside the walls of the drum tower. The market seems to go on for several blocks, my friend didn’t seem to be interested in looking at the night market, on hindsight, I should have just gone ahead to have a look at the night market without them. Anyway, another prominent feature with the drum tower area was this nice pagoda. I didn’t get the name of the pagoda here and my post-trip research didn’t come out with anything either.

It was a shame that I could find no name for this pagoda, not even in the Chinese maps. Anyway, the fact that I’m having difficulty finding the name of the pagoda, must mean that it is not very significant, heritage-wise, that is. The tower seems to be in active use though since there are still lights operating at night. I was having problems taking photos of the pagoda, since there was not a lot of ambient light. I didn’t bring my tripod so I was stuck trying to steady myself for a decent shot. There was also a street light nearby and it cause flaring in the image. Oh well, my friends were already tired and wanted to go back to the hostel, I would admit that I would love to go to sleep as well, it was a long day.
