Yummy Sandwich in Shanghai 上海

I was fortunate to have two friends in Shanghai who were willing to meet me at such as short notice. I got hold of the second one when I was in Zhou Zhuang and he sounded glad and excited to meet up with me. I got back to Shanghai at around five in the afternoon, and the sun was setting down fast. I was to meet up with my friend at a Shanghai subway station. It should be easy enough to find. He was staying at the French Concession area in Shanghai and it is a quiant little neighborhood.

It would be recalled that parts of Shanghai were occupied by various countries back then. As a result, the houses here retain parts of that European charm that cannot be found elsewhere in the country. A lot of expatriates make their home here so it were little surprise to see that it also has a lot of non-Chinese eating places. It has been a while since I had non-Chinese food, he suggested to have a sandwich at a favorite place his. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the name of this place. But I do remember the food, the sandwiches were great! Big and tasty, it seems that I have forgotten how good it can be to eat without any rice.

The restaurant was some kind of al fresco type of restaurant/bar. We sat outside the restaurant and the weather was quite cold. The staff then brought out some heaters to keep us warm. Afterwards my friend took me around the French Concession area where we kinda got lost, but I still had fun observing the residences here. If even I get the chance to stay in Shanghai, I would try to land a place here, but I think it might be a little expensive.
