One of the most important landmarks in Zhou Zhuang is naturally associated with water. Being a water village, Zhou Zhuang has numerous bridges that cross the rivers that divide the village. The Twin Bridges, which I see the moment I entered the village is one of the most famous landmarks of Zhou Zhuang. The two bridge each perpendicular to each other traverse two different waterways. They were built next to each other hence their nickname.

The bridge was used in paintings which eventually gained fame for the village. As a result, it is constantly beseiged by tourists the whole year round. The bridge isn’t really that special, it was a typical Chinese bridge which happen to be close to each other. Countless tourist boats pass under the bridge as part of their obligatory tour. I didn’t like it that much since there was so many people here. You could find similar bridges elsewhere with much less people.
