A Peek at the Quanfu Temple in Zhou Zhuang 周庄

One of the major sights in Zhou Zhuang is the Quanfu Temple. Because of the relative isolation of Zhou Zhuang from the rest of the world, thanks to its numerous waterways, it has preserved at lot of its old buildings. A number of their temple are surprisingly old, meaning several hundreds of years old. I was quite surprised to know this since I thought Shanghai was a relatively newcomer in Chinese history, though it is true that neighboring Suzhou already enjoyed prominence even way back then.

The Quanfu Temple is not surprisingly surrounded by water and one would have to cross some bridges to get there. Along the way were some minor temple and they do seem to be in use. Some of the places I have been to in China were devoid of culture and life and I was pleased to see that it one was still in active use. The Quanfu Temple counts as one of Zhou Zhuang important places and I would be looking forward to see what is so great about this place anyway.
