As one might expect, the Confucius Forest is indeed a forest and it is the largest patch of green here in Qufu. It is now a tourist attraction but a few weeks before this, I didn’t even know it existed. After walking a bit from Confucius Mansion to the Confucius Forest, I finally reached a gate which says to the Saint’s Forest or obviously referring to Confucius. The gate was similar in design to the gate I saw in front of the Confucius temple. This is where the ticket booth is and using my through ticket, I got in without any problems.

I was a bit dismayed to see another long walk lay ahead of me. There was another road which leads presumably to the Confucius Forest. This road is also lined with environmentally friendly electric people movers for the lazy. I was not a long walk to the real entrance so I didn’t mind walking in. I liked the idea of using these types of vehicles since there is no pollution emitted. The forest nearby would have taken cared of that anyway. The vehicles are also noise free which makes it ideal for places like this.
