Going to Qufu 曲阜

Shandong province is known for a few things, first one is Mount Tai 泰山, next one is that it is the birthplace of Confucius. As it turns out, Tai’an City is a perfect base to visit Confucius’ hometown of Qufu. I took a bus from the bus terminal, the bus wasn’t full so they took their time to wait for more passengers to make the trip more worthwhile. The trip will take about two hours which is why I got up early. It really dislike having to move around since I need to carry my stuff with me, but in this case, I only need to bring my stuff with me that evening.

The sky wasn’t as great was it was the previous day, so I was expecting a lot of dreary photos but who knows, two hours down the road might make a whole lot of difference. The bus passed through very rural countryside which is a huge contrast from the modern metropolis of Beijing. Along the highway were a lot of fields and suprisingly a lot of people were getting off along the highway on their way home. I noticed that there were street signs pointing out the direction of Guangzhou 广州 which is several hundred kilometers away, I wonder how long it would take to drive down that road.
