Temple and Summit Marker at Mount Tai 泰山

Whenever I visit a mountain it is but natural to be looking for the highest peak. After all it is one of the reasons why I visited the mountain in the first place. The summit of Mount Tai wasn’t really very obvious to me. Or rather, I didn’t really seek it out, I actually stumbled into it. There were so many people along the way that I didn’t have the strength to fight them. The summit of Mount Tai was also littered with a lot of establishments both new and old, it is very easy to get distracted by them.

The summit of Mount Tai was rather unexciting. There was a small temple like structure with a marker in front of it, saying that it was the highest point of Mount Tai. The official height here is 1548 meters. Not really terribly high but good enough to get good views. There were naturally a lot of people around here. The marker itself is surrounded by locks purchased and attached by lovers. On the locks were carved the words Climbed Mount Tai 登泰山.
