Closer Look at the Immortal Bridge 仙人桥
The Chinese love to give colorful names to most things from people to food and of course places. I remember visiting Zhangjiajie 张家界 in Hunan province where one of the sights is call the First Bridge in the World, on the way there my friend was a little apprehensive about this place but since we were already we might as well take a look. The First Bridge in the world turned out to be a natural bridge made of sandstone and it wasn’t really very impressive.
Immortal Bridge 仙人桥 at Mount Tai 泰山
Back to Mount Tai 泰山 in Shandong province, there is a place called Immortal Bridge 仙人桥, that is, Bridge of Immortals. I didn’t have to walk that far to see this place but it ranks right up there with the First Bridge in World, in terms of impressiveness. The Immortal Bridge is a natural bridge made from collapsed rocks from two nearby cliffs. It is not possible to cross the Immortal Bridge though and I don’t think it is a good idea. The structure doesn’t seem very stable and it might collapse sometime in the future.
