So this is it, my first mountain in a long, long while. I’m not really a mountain climber as I don’t have the endurance for that but I enjoy being on top of them and exploring them and just appreciating their views. China was a huge number of beautiful mountains and it just so happens that this mountain happens to be culturally and historically significant as well. I have read about the climb up Mount Tai 泰山, naturally, no amount of reading will be able to prepare me for the long and arduous climb up this magnificent mountain.

From the bus stop at the mid-point of the mountain you can make a decision, either climb up the normal way, or wuss out and take the cable car. I was looking at the crowds here in Mount Tai and vast majority of them were walking up. Besides, my friend told me that I should climb Mount Tai at least once in my life. So climbing, it shall be. China places stairs on mountains wherever they are and the people here love to climb regardless of age. While walking up, I would see old people walking up the mountain like they do it everyday. We’ll see if I can do the same.
