Pavillion of Floating Greenery 浮碧亭

At the center of the imperial garden in the Forbidden City is another rather large pavillion, the Pavillion of Floating Greenery 浮碧亭. This one dwarfs the two which are flanking it. The pavillion was built beside a pond which makes it excellent for just looking at the pond and watch life pass by. As a matter of fact, a lot of visitors have taken this opportunity to take a break from all of that touring. It is really hard work going around this place.

Impressive Ceiling at the Pavillion of Floating Greenery 浮碧亭

The Pavillion of Floating Greenery is another classic example of traditional Chinese architecture. The ceiling is likewise intricately designed and like the Pavillion of Ten Thousand Spring Seasons, this pavillion also has that dragon ornament on the ceiling. This one though seems to be in a more “authentic” state since it is more exposed to the elements that the other one. Somehow seeing that dragon seems to remind me of something I saw in a movie before.
