The Hall of Refreshing Mists and Waves is one of the most important structures in the Mountain Resort. This served as the official residence of the emperor. The emperor also conducts his business here all in the luxurious and relaxing environment of the Mountain Resort. Emperor Kangxi compiled a list of 36 scenic spots within the Mountain Resort, it shows how busy he was, and the Hall of Refreshing Mists and Waves tops the list. Much of the buildings here are rustic with hardly any effort to give it a renovated touch.
