Large Jinshan Tower 大金山楼

What I had neglected to tell you is that all along this hike of the Great Wall of China, I was constantly hounded by hawkers. In fact, the tourist crowd is so thin here in Jinshanling that I believe there were more vendors here that tourists. This may or may not be a bad thing. The good is that there were very few tourists. The bad is that those few tourists become easy targets for the vendors. One in particularly was quite persistent, my mistake is that I talked to them in Chinese which made them more bold to approach me. Anyway, it was a good change since I was walking by myself anyway.

The lady offered me some photo books but I politely but firmly refused. Undaunted, she continued walking with me wherever I decide to go. She said she lived nearby just behind a mountain in a village which I cannot see. The people were relocated from their village because of the presence of the park but somehow they are still able to get in. It seems there is another way to get it here. Hmmm… I’m not about to find where this place is though as it was already midafternoon and I needed to get back soon.
