Spacious Pavillion 廓如亭

I’ve almost completed circling the shores of Kunming Lake. How do I know that? It is because the number of tourists here have sharply increased. This is also a sign that there is something significant here. First of all there is a rather large pavillion seat by a bridge. The pavillion is called the Spacious Pavillion 廓如亭. It was really more spacious than the others I have seen there. It is octagonal in shape, its size meant this was probably a significant pavillion.

Inside the roof of the pavillion is adorned with the poems of the ever flamboyant Emperor Qianlong. Traces of the colored roof can still be seen here as evidence of its past grandeur. It gives an indication how much care is given when building these structures.
