Bus Headed for Kuala Lumpur

Bus Headed for Kuala Lumpur

The moment I arrived at Tanah Rata, my first order of business was to secure a ride out of Tanah Rata. It was a holiday weekend so everything was expensive. It was also difficult to get a direct bus to Singapore. I would have had to stay only a day and set out for Singapore the next day. I didn’t really like that idea but I didn’t have much choice, there was no direct bus for the best day. So I decided to take the next best option – I bought a ticket to Kuala Lumpur.

The bus leaves at 10:30 in the morning, the lady who sold me the ticket told me to be there ten minutes before the bus leaves. I was already in the area by the time taking my time since there was no bus in the bus terminal. When I got impatient, I approached the ticket counter and they told me that the bus had already left! She instructed me to head to the tourist information center on the other side of town. Frustrated at how flexible their bus schedules are, I immediately set out for the tourist information center.

Tanah Rata wasn’t that big, and I got there within minutes. Fortunately, the bus was still there waiting for passengers. I don’t get it why they would have two different pick up points within the same area. I’m just glad that the bus was still there. The bus is the three seater type and was very comfortable. I spent much of the trip sleeping until we got to Kuala Lumpur. Remember that the trip takes around hour hours to complete at peak season, it cost MYR 35. Peak season tickets to Singapore from Tanah Rata cost MYR 140.
