Sultan Abu Bakar Lake

From the Fong Huat Nursery, it was a long hour walk for me. There was hardly anything interesting for me to see. My destination is still not in sight. I was beginning to wonder if I was taking the right path since all i have been seeing here are just mountain road. There was supposed to be a town near my destination. Then I finally saw the sign, I was finally entering the town of Habu. Habu is a small town which is centered on a small hydroelectric dam. But I didn’t come here for the dam.

On the way here, I saw a lake from the bus. I was so impressed with what I saw that I decided to come here. The lake is the Sultan Abu Bakar lake, which was a man made lake to power the hydroelectric dam nearby. The water was very heavily silted and it didn’t look nice. However, it was seated near a few Mock Tudor houses which lends the area a very old English feel. From a distance the rusting steel bridges looked like train tracks, this sent my imagination running wild. There is a hotel here but apart from there there is hardly anything to keep you here.
