Guangfu Temple 广福宫

Now, that I managed to secured my accomodations for the night, I was time to continue my exploration of Melaka’s Chinatown. This time one of the more interesting places was this small Chinese temple. It would not be surprising to say that Melaka is probably be one of the towns in Malaysia with the most Chinese temples per person. There was a Chinese temple one after the other. This one was just a block away from the Guanyin Temple, I guess this just goes to show the tremendous Chinese influence that persisted since the glory days of Melaka.

The Guangfu Temple is a simple little temple. Somehow it seems to be a bit neglected, and yes, more authentic in feeling. It was only one storey high and there were two large guardians decorating the entrance of the temple. To the left was a tiger and to the right was a dragon. Wanted to explore the inside of the temple but I was startled to see an elderly lady sitting inside the temple. I had not idea what she was doing there, it would be that she is the caretaker. Unfortunately, I was creeped out enough that I didn’t bother continuing exploring the inside of the temple.
