Peaceful Walk in the Woods at Fort Canning Hill
As far as hills go, Fort Canning Hill can hardly be considered a hill, however, hills are a bit hard to come by here in Singapore and it seemed that Fort Canning hill was a significant hill back in the olden days. Fortunately, Fort Canning has been developed as a park and a few trails crisscross the grounds. These would be one of the few places in Singapore where you can see the roofs of buildings from something which is not a building.
Nicely Paved Path at Fort Canning Hill
A path is carved from the hillside where visitors can go around the hill passing through some significant landmarks. This is actually a great place to be walking as there is peace and quiet and the air is great. The trees also provide ample shade in case of sunny but hot weather. Much of the path is paved and this would hardly be considered roughing it out. It could be, if you say walking is already roughing it out.
