Revisiting Marina Bay

Large Flyover-like Road Flies Above at the Marina Barrage

We took the MRT to Marina Bay Station and went out. There were signs pointing to the buses for Marina Barrage but they weren’t very clear. We were soon out of the station and we still don’t know where the bus stop was. At the time of our visit, the immediate area of the Marina Bay Station was a big construction zone and a lot of large vehicles were passing through almost telling me that we were in the wrong place. The path from the MRT station led us to what seemed to be nowhere and brought us under the bridge. From here we finally saw where the bus stop was. It wasn’t really the most convenient way to get to the bus stop but they could have at least put some signs on where to go for the bus. Hopefully, it has already changed by the time you read this.

A Lot of Strollers at the Marina Barrage

A Lot of Strollers at the Marina Barrage

The last time I was here in Marina Bay area was where there was still a bowling alley and billiard hall here and probably the most famous thing here was a large conglomeration of steamboat restaurants. A lot has changed since then and the steamboat restaurants are no longer there. Instead the Marina Bay area is undergoing intense redevelopment and it would be totally unrecognizable once they are done. It would seem that the Marina Barrage is a popular place to be since most of the passengers on the bus went there. This lifted up my hopes that this would be a more interesting experience.
