After my rather disappointing exploration of the Manila Ocean Park, I decided to continue on behind the Quirino Grandstand and out into Roxas Boulevard. There were a number of restaurants at the end of the road most of them not particularly interesting. However, as I walked towards Roxas Boulevard, I noticed there was a restaurant which seemed quite out of place. It was the Little Lamb Restaurant 绿品小肥羊. This restaurant is the most popular steamboat chain in China and it finally has a branch here in Manila, of all places. I’ve often heard about this place from my Chinese friends and I always wanted to try it out. However, they don’t have a branch in Singapore and I would have to fly to Hong Kong or Shenzhen just to be able to eat there. So imagine my surprise to find out that they decided to open a branch here.
I would have wanted to try it out but it would not be very nice to eat steamboat all by yourself. I do have reservations about the viability of the business since this place doesn’t see a lot of foot traffic as I would expect the Chinese community to be the first to visit this place. Add to the fact that Little Lamb Restaurant specializes in Sichuan style spicy and numbing steamboat, although they do have other broths, the spiciness of the broth might be too much to the tastes of Filipinos. Filipino cuisine is uniquely non-spicy in a sea of spicy cuisine in South East Asia. The extreme spicy of Sichuan steamboat might be too much for Filipino taste buds, possibly even for the local Chinese community. However, if they manage to survive until my next visit to Manila, I would definitely pay them a visit. It is very near the corner of T.M. Kalaw St and Roxas Boulevard, on the side of Manila Bay.

I would recommend you try this hot pot restaurant! Their lamb is a must try! You can choose between spicy and the regular broth or both. Better to bring with you your family and friends. Thumbs up!
glad to know that it is still there. i’ll make sure to try it out wherever i see it be it in manila or china. i’m curious to know the general feedback for the place as filipinos are not really known for having a spicy, not to mention numbing taste. thanks for visiting!
i got a chance to visit this hot pot restaurant and i must say that, the ambiance is good and quite homey at the same time.. i had enjoyed the food as well as the services of their staff.. i recommend this place to all foodies out there.
oh that’s great! how was the reception to the hot and numbing broth? sometimes it may be a little too much even for my tastes and i love spicy food.
heard that they offer eat all you can in their hot pot menu. would you know the price and if all dishes is included?

I heard it from a friend that their eat all you can is priced at 500 php for lunch and 600 php for dinner. 🙂
