Makansutra at Manila Ocean Park

The Manila Ocean Park was quite underwhelming to say the least. After two years it still doesn’t seem to be finished with a lot of construction still going on. However, there are already quite a lot of retail shops here and in particular the food court is already done. Imagine my surprise to find out that the food court here in Manila Ocean Park is named Makansutra. Makansutra is a well known name in Singapore and it is best known as a reference for good food for all price ranges.

This Makansutra seems to be the real thing since the construction of the Manila Ocean Park was also funded by investors from Singapore. Naturally, the food serves fare normally found in Singapore such as chicken rice, nasi lemak and kway teow. Some of the names of the stores even have names which only people living in Singapore for a long period of time would know, like Punggol which is basically a residential neighborhood. The food court seems to be well made and it is one of the few professionally done places here in the Manila Ocean Park, this is in sharp contrast to the fish spa place I just been to. It remains to be seen how Singapore food fares here as Filipinos in general tend to be safe, preferring to stick with familiar Filipino food or western style fast food. It is a experiment and I wonder what the results are.
