The last time I was here at San Agustin Church I wasn’t able to visit their famed museum. However, this time, I managed to come after lunch time fortunately they were open. The San Augstin Museum is a the building to the right of the San Agustin church itself. It was built from the ruins of World War II to the museum it is today. It is quite atmospheric since the entire museum is made of solid stone, giving you that back in time feeling.

The entrance fee now is P100, up from the P15 I paid when I last visited the place. I figured that there are a lot more tourists visiting this place and it would be good if the museum also earns its keep in maintaining the place. Most of the exhibits are exposed to the elements and it would be sad to see them disappear because of that. The entrance itself was already a wonder with a huge bell greeting the visitors. This bell used to be at the former belltower on the left of the church, the church suffered huge damage from the quake and the belltower needed to be torn down out of safety. The bell from the belltower is now on display at the entrance of the museum.
