Go Go Curry's Pork Katsu

Go Go Curry's Pork Katsu

While wandering around ION Shopping Center along Orchard, I stumbled across this rather quaint Japaese curry place. This is Go Go Curry and it has a gorilla for a mascot. They have several branches in Japan and this is their first venture here in Singapore. I decided to give it a try. They have a simple stall at the basement of ION Shopping Center, I guess they didn’t go for the full fast food restaurant yet to test the waters.

Can Never Get Enough of This

Can Never Get Enough of This

Naturally I ordered the curry, their signature dish is the pork katsu curry and it comes in different sizes. I’ve tried their “healthy” size which is their smallest one which is already quite filling with one slab of meat and rice underneath slathered with delicious curry. I have also tried their “Grand slam” which is their biggest size, this gives you two large slabs of meat with some hotdog and shrimp. If it weren’t for their 50% opening promo I wouldn’t have tried it. Being the big eater that I am, I never expected myself to have difficulty to finish that massive plate of food but I did. Naturally, their curry sauce is what makes the dish so great. It is not very spicy so I think non-spicy eaters can take this. You do have to wait a while for you order to come out since they need to cook it on the spot. I guess it is also a good sign when you see Japanese eating at a Japanese place here in Singapore.
