Haji Lane
The Kampong Glam area of Singapore was a surprisingly interesting place, aside from that ho-hum Malay Heritage Center, of course. After passing through a restaurant row, we cross Arab Street into a small artsy lane called Haji Lane. The tiny street is also lined with restaurants mostly the Middle Eastern fare and it is not unusual to see people sitting on the curb having a shisha or hookah. I have been to some of these Middle Eastern restaurants and although they are not five star restaurants, the food is refreshingly different but good. I make it a point to drop by area once in a while.
