Phuket Island Hopping Tour

Lighthouse from the Water

Lighthouse from the Water

With all of us finally loaded onto the boat, so were the other tourists in other boats. It was like some kind of race where everybody needed to go up into the boat as soon as they can so the boats can leave immediately. One by one the motorboats sped off, soon our boat also started its engines. We were moving at a nice clip, and I got a nice view of the lighthouse. The day was great and it seemed to be a perfect day for island hopping.

Powerful Engines of the Motorboat

Powerful Engines of the Motorboat

When we were already a good distance from the seaside, our motors finally really started up. The boat was a 40 seater, and they were not kidding. It was just nice for all 40 of us. For our propulsion, our boat comes with three powerful Yamaha engines. It was my first time to ride a motorboat, so I was really excited at the speed of the motorboat with the three engines at full power.

To think that it would take us almost an hour to get to our destination at this speed gave me an idea of how far the islands are. So nothing to do but relax. This is a far cry from my last island hopping tour in Palawan in the Philippines, where I took a motorized outrigger canoe to explore the magical islands of the Bacuit Archipelago.
