Our final stop at our Inle Lake tour is the Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery, this tongue twister of a monastery still built on Inle Lake and is only accessible by boat. The name is also redundant since kyaung means monastery. The teak monastery was built back in the 1850s and it is still holding up. From the outside the temple doesn’t really seem that interesting. Obviously from its age, it certainly looks like it is centuries old. I’m surprised that despite being built on top of the lake it is stil around.
