The Htilominlo Temple was certainly an architectural marvel for me. However, taking a photo of the massive temple is not that easy when you are right next to something so tall. I asked my driver to bring me somewhere I can get a good view of the temple. He understood me and immediately brought me to another nearby temple with a “viewing deck”. And true enough I got a pretty good view of the Htilominlo Temple.

As I was going down, I noticed that there were a couple of small temple within the immediate area. Almost immediately, I notice one which has a golden zedi. Usually, when a temple has a golden zedi it is usually important. This was the Ahlo Daw Pyae Temple. Also in another sign of it significance, it has it own marble path around the zedi. There were indeed a few local visiting this temple. The temple itself isn’t really that big in fact, among the ones I have visited so far, this was the smallest.

As I was going around the temple area following the marble path, I noticed that even the marble tiles were started to get too hot to walk on. A wuss like me had to hop quickly on the marble path. As a result, I wasn’t able to explore the temple as much as I wanted to. It was really that hot. Just within the immediate area of the zedi were several conical stupa. Most of them were in quite good condition but the stairs were blocked off. I’m not even sure if I wanted to climb up the stair barefoot.

This served as a lesson for me, if I wanted to explore Bagan, I should had started very early in the morning. Not only is noon time the worst time to be out because of the extreme heat, but the harsh light was not doing anything good for my photos.
