Dau Bus Terminal in Tagbilaran

Dau Bus Terminal

Dau Bus Terminal

Proof of my lack of planning for this trip is the fact that from the resort island of Panglao, I will be heading off to the provincial capital of Tagbilaran. Just outside the beach area is a road where public transport pass by. I was fortunate to find a multi-cab waiting for passengers, otherwise I would have needed to hire a habal-habal or motorcycle taxi to move around. The multi-cab brought us to the main town of Panglao, also called Panglao. From here there was a nother transportation back to the Bohol mainland – Tagbilaran in particular.

It was a slow crawl from Panglao town back to Tagbilaran but everything started speeding up when we got out of the town. The bus brought us to the Dau Bus Terminal just outside Tagbilaran City. I like the fact that they have a central bus terminal where all the transportation from the other towns comes to. This will avoid unnecessary traffic in the city itself. This could be a lesson for the big city Manila. The bus terminal is just a few minutes from the town center itself so i wasn’t really a big deal.

My Transportation

My Transportation

The bus terminal here reminded me of the bus terminal in Puerto Princesa I visited a couple of years back. This one was bigger but a little darker since they didn’t open the lights. There were a whole bunch of vehicles waiting for passengers at the terminal with names I never even heard of. There were large bus like vehicles that defy classification going to the town of Valencia. I need to go in that direction so I sat inside. But it seems that again, the vehicle leave when full, so I got out and had a little breakfast first. It was just a simple meal of pancit guisado, the serving was so tiny that I had two orders and was still hungry. Oh well, it has been a while since I had some of these.
