Sunset at Alona Beach

I spent the rest of the day just walking up and down Alona Beach. This beach has fine white sand which made the island of Panglao famous. There is a row of restaurants which line the beach for the hungry visitor. This place is obviously for the more well to do and I would be hard pressed to find a place which fits my budget. Well, now is not the time for me to worry about that. I was here to witness the sunset here at Alona Beach.

Being close to the equator, the Philippines has spectacular sunsets. In some places better than others because of the pollution in the air. The air in Panglao is very fresh with the smell of seawater permeating the air. I was getting ready to take photos of the sunset when I realized that the sun goes down behind the beach. I would not be able to see it from here. Which was too bad. Instead, I had to content myself with the changing colors of the sky at sunset. After the sun sets, the lights of the restaurants along the beach turn on giving another impressive light show.
