My Chau Hotel

While in Hoi An, we stayed at the hotel recommended by our guides – My Chau Hotel. It was already late in the afternoon and were weren’t able to take photos of the hotel. The next morning the first thing we did was to take photos of the area.

Where to Find the Hotel

My Chau Hotel in a busy part of Hoi An, but still close enough to walk to the Old Quarter. Most of the houses in the area were low-rise. In fact, you can see the mountains beyond Hoi An. Right outside the hotel was a small makeshift eatery. You can see all sorts of folks sit on the plastic chairs and have a hearty breakfast of noodles or bread. Some of the even wear their trademark Vietnamese conical hats.

The lobby of the hotel is pretty standard. It has a check-in counter, an elegant semi-spiral staircase and even clocks for different time zones. The staff spoke some English, but not great. But they were friendly enough to point us to some places of interest.

It was still early in the morning and our guides Le Tien and Cuong have not arrived yet, so we decided to explore Hoi An for a while.

  1. PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay away from My Chau Hotel. Family members and I had our passports and hundreds of dollars stolen from a locked suitcase. The owner was entirely unhelpful and threatened us with further problems. I’ve never had such a bad experience and it has sadly discolored our entire trip.

  2. that is an horrible experience for anyone. it is unfortunate that it happened at my chau hotel. my experience wasn’t that bad, but then that was years ago, things might have changed for the worse.

    thanks for dropping by.
