Trying the BK Quad Stacker

It seems like there is a fastfood war brewing in Singapore. Two burger joints have recently introduced competing products in the menu. I’m talking about Burger King and McDonald’s. Burger King recently introduced the BK Stacker and McDonald’s also introduced their own MegaMac. Their selling point is how big the burger is. Their offerings can be as big as 4 burger patties on one burger sandwich.

The Four Patty Burger

The Four Patty Burger

I decided to try the Burger King version first since at that time there were less people eating there. Their BK Stacker starts from two, then three and finally four patties. I intend to try the four patty version. The photos of the burger really look intimidating. Now, I’m not so sure whether I can finish it or not. I saw some guys much bigger than me order the same thing but with only two patties. I’m beginning to have some doubts.

Anyway, I ordered my four patty burger with onion rings and surprisingly, it took a while to make the burger. I guess not a lot of people seem to order that. When my order came, I was underwhelmed with the size of the burger. It is in fact just their Turkey Bacon Burger but with three more patties. It isn’t that significantly larger and with a little compressing of the burger, it can be easily eaten.

It didn’t really took me long to finish the burger. It was a little dry in my opinion. Probably because there were too much burger. I found myself putting chili sauce to add more moisture to the burger. Soon the onion rings followed the burger down my stomach. The onion rings sadly were the regular sized ones, but still nice.

After that, I realized that the burger was a little expensive for just that little gimick of theirs. The burger was dry and wasn’t really very tasty. The turkey bacon bits gave some texture and taste to the burger but only adds to the feeling of dryness. I believe the money I spent trying this would have been better spent at another burger place like Carl’s Jr. whose price is now comparable to the four patty burger meal I just had. I took it as a personal challenge to see if I can finish it. Now I proved that I can, but I probably won’t be doing it again.
